Women Empowerment - In India women disempowered and generally handed a bad deal. Consider the various issues they face. It starts at birth. No wonder India has amongst the worst sex ratios in the world, with only 893 females for every 1000 males. There are fewer female children in schools than males, most of them dropping out when they hit puberty, preferring to stay at home, because most schools don’t have toilets or running water. They are not safe on the streets, with high rates of rape and sexual assault.
Regional Art Society believes that women should have equal socio- economic, cultural and political opportunities as men. While doing research, it was discovered that gender discrimination was too much in many village of Bihar. We say ourselves modern but still women’s are not allowed to give their suggestion in the major decision of the Home. After 68 years of independence, still women’s are abused by their family and husband. They just cry but don’t have confidence to fight for their right. They always have fear in their mind if there husband will leave what she will do. Regional Art Societies have taken the initiative not only to fight for their right but also to provide the technical skill, so that they can earn their livelihood. Our organisation is the member Secretary of NALSA, a complaint committee for restraining sexual harassment of women in Bihar.
Beauty parlour - When we were doing our survey we came across many deprived women’s and girls who want to do many thing in their life, but they don’t have any resource. Even if any marriage occurs in that underprivileged area, the parents didn’t have enough money to get their daughters beautified through any professional beauty parlour. Then we identified their need and decided to give free training in beauty parlour, our dedication and hard work brought result and we got certain projects from NABARD and Bihar Urban Deployment Agency (BUDA) and modular employable scheme (MES)
